Who is the course for?

The overall aim of this qualification is to accredit candidates knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles concerned in the use of a manual accounting system.

What do i get out of it?

Within the qualification, candidates have the opportunity to gain knowledge of basic manual book-keeping routines concerning the documentation and processes related to making and receiving payments. They will gain an initial insight into both cash and credit business transactions, VAT and other manual routines.

How much does it cost?

The qualification requires candidates to understand those transactions, which are necessary for the day-to-day function of an accounting system and for processing of simple documents. Accuracy, integrity and security of data should always be uppermost in the candidates mind.

Is it accredited?

Who is the course for?

The IAB Level 3 Award in Computerised Payroll is aimed at individuals who already have a good working knowledge of the software, and wish to further their studies of computerised payroll within a working business environment gaining a qualification at Level 3 of the National Framework from a point of no previous knowledge or having achieved the IAB Level 2 Award in Computerised Payroll or equivalent. It could also be used by those candidates who have good practical knowledge and skills and wish to gain an accredited qualification in the subject.Owners of small businesses may also find this qualification useful as it gives coverage of wide range of tasks that can be carried out using commercially available payroll software.

What do i get out of it?

On successful completion of the mandatory unit, the learner will receive a certificate to confirm the achievement of the Level 3 Award in computerised Payroll (QCF). The certificate will include the full name and accreditation number of the qualification and the grade obtained.

The Qualification

This qualification is part of the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), which became fully operational in September 2010. Qualifications within the framework are made up of units and each unit is given a credit value, where one credit represents 10 hours of learning time. The title of every qualification within the new framework will contain details of the size (award/certificate/diploma), level of difficulty (Entry to level 8) and general content of the qualification.

Who is the course for?

The IAB Bookkeeping qualifications are specifically designed to appeal to those who are aspiring to become, or who are already, professional bookkeepers or accounts administrators.

What do i get out of it?

On successful completion of all the mandatory units, the learner will receive a certificate to confirm the achievement of the Level 3 Award in Manual Bookkeeping (QCF). The certificate will include the full name and accreditation number of the qualification and the grade awarded.

The Qualification

This qualification is part of the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF), which became fully operational in September 2010. Qualifications within the framework are made up of units and each unit is given a credit value, where one credit represents 10 hours of learning time. Assessment and Grading

With the introduction of the QCF the IAB has introduced additional assessments to supplement the standard form of examination. The additional assessments consist of two assignments and in order to successfully complete the qualification, all the relevant modes of assessment must be successfully completed.For this qualification the IAB will provide all assessment material including assignments and examinations. For assessments other than the examination it is expected that the accredited centre will mark the original scripts with a 20% sample being forwarded to the IAB for external moderation. Front sheets will be supplied with answer books which will allow the recording of the marks for the assessment and allow for details of internal verification and external moderation. IAB level 3 examinations will be offered as standard sittings in June only, or on an on demand basis. All on demand sittings are subject to a minimum period of notice.

The Qualification

The qualification is divided into eight units each with identified Learning Outcomes. Entry requirements
